Chiral active pharmaceutical intermediate: DCL has developed a process for the manufacture of a chiral API at a cost of 50% of the commercial racemic drug. This involved developing an improved process for a key raw material, as well as for an efficient stereo-controlled step to create the single diastereomer.
Fluoroaromatic intermediate: A transformation, novel to chemistry, was invented to create a fluoroaromatic intermediate with an unusually tricky substitution pattern. The process was transferred to India and the raw materials sourced from China to ensure the intermediate, required by a major multinational pharmaceutical company, was manufactured at minimal cost. Major analgesic ingredient: Technology to produce a major analgesic ingredient has been developed that operates in a continuous reactor. The reduction in capital investment enables the minimum scale of operation to be cut by ten times. Novel process technology: Access to a feedstock that is currently being burned, combined with some novel process technology, has provided DCL with the means to manufacture several important intermediates at a significantly reduced cost, thus enabling DCL's customer to successfully enter new markets. New chiral intermediate: DCL has appointed an Indian company to produce a new chiral intermediate for a US customer. The process for the intermediate was developed in the UK using a catalyst system supplied by a German specialist. |
